First of all Toonpimp, thank you for great and entertaining games!

I find the Cracklevania-games to be the best of your work so far.

What i'd like to see if a version of the game Condom Man made with a Toonpimp-touch.

Keep up the good work TP!

I apologize for the length of this, but I am honestly interested if I can get a clear answer.

I read back a ways on the boards and noticed that Toonpimp seems to have quite a bit of ups and downs about doing this type of stuff. I recognize that just doing porn perpetually for months upon months with relative thanklessness can grate on you, and I haven't collected the whole story about your ups and downs, but I am sincerely curious about something: What type of support do you want?

I recognize you want monetary, but one thing about donations is there are many people who are able to donate very small amounts, such as me. But I could potentially do it over time on an interval if that's what you want to continue making stuff. Or commission game improvements and the like, however it's rather tough to decipher what your needs are and how much a 'commission' of whatever size may cost. I recognize that's rather private, but there's something nostalgic, entertaining, arousing, and just generally freeing about your Run and Rape games. It's strange to put it in those terms I guess, but it's like it's something special coming from the internet that's not quite just porn, but entertainment with porn in it, and I do legitimately want to support you.

However I think the idea of just a 'donation' is kind of vague. If we kind of knew what you were looking for, or had a post of sorts (if one doesn't already exist that I haven't found) specifically depicting what you expect of your players, then perhaps it wouldn't be such a sine wave of ups and downs for your development and you'd be more happy. For example I'd be totally happy with 5 bucks a month, even if I'm unemployed now. And I'm also an animator, so hell, I think it'd even be a bit fun to help you out a bit for some training and just to contribute in general.

So to reiterate: what is it that you truly want to do? Are you sincerely aggravated about working on these games? Do you just want to put certain ones on pause for a time because you're sick of looking at it, but will eventually come back to it after a rest, like the newer Cracklevania Shadow of Hellhorn or something? I recognized from what I've read that there's no real clear communication of what you want, but you make it clear that you're frustrated. Should you release games for pay, I'd pay 5-10 bucks for one, but the problem is you would run into legal issues potentially based on your use of music, sound and other assets potentially.

I'm not versed in the history of this place, so all of this may be covered, but I couldn't find it.

Again, sorry for the length. It seems this place isn't fond of longer discussion messages.

Tp usually disappears for a while nothing too extraordinary. Being someone who has donated a 100 dollars in the past year. I know that Tp has the idea that people who pay more bitch less lol. At least on this forum. So Donate what you can and specifically state what you want your money to go toward. Specific games, just being nice, etc. Tp is definitely not a limemarval, and though our community has shrunk we still have some good people here. So if you wanna donate your not alone. If you need help with anything give a holler in a message!

~~take care

I feel the opposite way about donators Lordlubu, I'd think that the majority of people who donated more (or just a lump amount at once) would end up bitching more. They don't always realize that their donations are donations but rather they think it's paying for sooner or better material. Then when an artist like toonpimp takes a break regardless of the donations the people that donated freak out feeling their money went to nothing.

I personally think that whether toonpimps making games or not, as long as he (the host) is around more often and posting about anything then it would raise the overall moral and people wouldn't bitch as much. Heck, it might even lead to an increase in small donations from a bunch of people that add up.

For what toonpimp wants, I don't even think he knows what he wants to do.

Well I paid my rent for the forum at least lol. I get your point though, Still I hate to see a trailblazer like him turn to dust. But its non of my business either way. Dye is cast, money is sent. What he does with our trust is up to him. ^^

That's kind of my point. Obviously he wants to have freedoms, and money helps that. I'm an animator and much of what I wish is that I could just do fun little projects myself and have the money to never worry about it. Toonpimp seems to have some variation of fun learning these coding aspects, and then applying them, yet he goes through periods where he doesn't feel appreciated. I spent months on some parodies, and the full production went by in a few minutes and all that work was done, and I got a great reaction because I had an audience in front of me and made me want to do more. This situation he has a bunch of 'fans' who unfortunately generally come from the anonymous internet crowd, which is not a mistake to GENERALLY describe them as ungrateful pirates.

I know I can only donate like 5 or 10 bucks now safely and not worry about missing a necessary bill, for example, but a month from now, another 5 bucks would totally be feasible. And of course if others do that it adds up, not including those who put more into the pot. Like I wrote in my intro post, for some reason the Kunoichi game turned me on so much, even now just the way it was made almost acts like a melting pot of nostalgia, demon rape, and big-titted ninjas... all three being guilty pleasures of mine... and somehow they combined to form a super weapon that makes me lose it almost within seconds. That in and of itself makes me want to give him money that I have trouble affording as gratitude for making something so 'effective.'

The issue I was bringing up is he asks for donations, and obviously many people who find his work love it, as he basically seems to have created a game genre, so I'm curious if there's not a way he can basically set up an unofficial subscription style thing through donations. He can't officially demand money of course unless he made his own IP and sold the game online, but if he needs the motivation, I think he just needs to step in and ask for him to get a response. Like 'Hey all, I haven't gotten many donations recently and I'm in the middle of a few updates. I'd really like if some of you could step up and donate a bit to help me out' or something along those lines.

Really I do think that these concepts of his are just fun and erotic enough that it's not unreasonable for him to ask such stuff. I mean let's face it, we all work and have lives (to varying degrees) and many of us could use reminders once in a while to give our dues to help him out. Like I said, I'd even be happy to help if he sent me files of his characters to assist with animations for his games, or draw creatures and such ready for Flash use. I couldn't focus heavily on it, but I'd be happy to assist just for fun. And donate a little here and there as well.
