If it's not fun, then don't do it.

It's true that furry porn can be lucrative as shit. Thing is, it's not lucrative for everyone. Some people just get incredibly fucking popular for little effort while others slave away for years and never get a single cent when they try their hardest. TP, like many others, couldn't catch the popularity bug, and his fanbase is littered with far more people unwilling to throw him a few dollars than those who donate and commission.

Deny it all you want, there's absolutely no such thing as "too poor to give someone a dollar or two". That's a soda, an energy drink, that spare change you found between the couch cushions. You're either too chicken-shit about your parents finding you spending money on your paypal account for a porn game maker, or you're just too lazy to throw someone a few bucks even though you spend hours on his forums and playing his games. Otherwise, you're living paycheck to paycheck and saving every penny you have, in which case you wouldn't have a fucking internet connection to begin with.

Basically, a lot of you are like the asshole friends who always takes free rides whenever they come by, and never throw the driver a buck for gas money out of basic courtesy. You either pretend you left your wallet at home, you're too poor, or you go aggro on them because you feel they don't deserve the money because they offered to drive for free and asking for money is an insult to you.

BUT OF COURSE, a friend of mine is in the lucrative furry porn thing and makes nearly $300 a week on commissions, and what he has that TP has is a very strong and close friendship to an initial group of friends, and it branches outward from there by word of mouth. He maintains a good friendship to those people and is close with the people who watch him, and it helps him expand his fanbase and gain more commissioners. So TP could do more if he really wanted to gut the cash cow of furry porn. But that friend of mine is kind of a faggot and actually does love what he does and loves furries universally, and that's something I couldn't even stand to do, let alone TP. It's too fun to make fun of you furfags.

In the end, he doesn't want to make furry porn. He wants to do other shit with his time, and he was only in it for the money. Nothing wrong with that, especially with the amount of shit he made, it's only expected he'd want something out of it. When that doesn't happen, and when everyone expects him to crank out games but won't even give him a single fucking dollar for all the time we've spent playing his games and hanging out around here in the forums, he has every right to be bitter and stop doing this shit if it's not bringing in anything.

I know it's not closing now, but holy shit guys, a dollar. Just give the guy a fucking dollar if you've never given him anything yet.

Now feel free to turn on me and tell me why I'm wrong and continue to justify you not giving him jack shit. I'm off to finally give him a dollar.

I am surprised someone understands this. I was beginning to think everyone thought I was some kind of robot whose sole purpose was to draw porn for free. It's not like that at all. The honest truth of the matter is that people RARELY donate. Times are tough and I can understand that, however the thing that gets me is that people also have the gall to complain about the few people who actually do donate, when they themselves play my games and utilize my forum. These are the same selfish people that play the game then complain that "this is no cracklevania" or even chastise the commissioner for commissioning the game. These are the same people that expect me to come back and make another game for them to jerk off to when they have given me absolutely no incentive in which to do so. It was fun making games for comments and criticism the first or second time I made a game, but I have made over 20 games! I've heard everything everyone has ever had to say about my games ten-fold. Its not worth it to even make games just for that anymore. So many of my games get cancelled because I can't get past the fact that people take me for granted.
I have one last Run or Rape game to make. It's not even close to Cracklevania, its not even Kya's Quest. It's short and I could do a thousand times better. It is a commission and I wouldn't have made it if I wasn't paid to. A commission is the only way YOU will ever get me to make a free Run or Rape game ever again.
I love making games and I will always make games, but that does not mean I have to make them for free or even share them with you.

Also, in a hilarious side-note, your buddy who made the universal "FAREWELL FRIENDS, FOR I AM LEAVING THE EVIL GREEDY TOONPIMP" message on the forums is still fluffing up his same tired Pixelforce game on ULMF. So far it's been months of text updates and aspirations for the future, and absolutely zero actual progress being made. For you being such an evil asshole, it sure seems like your work is the only work that project has ever seen.

And what was one of his first ideas he came up with since the move? SALES PRICE/DONATION INCENTIVES!

Holy shit I love it when people act like hot-shit game designers yet they've never made a single game in their lifetime.

You're not wrong.

I understood it was business the second I PM'd TP for the Kya commission. I feel that this is what people fail to realize. It is business. Treat it as such, and you'll be satisfied with the outcome. I'm quite happy how everything turned out despite the flak I got from others.

Yeah that's one of the mindfucks I'm still trying to process; they're giving YOU flak? Since when does anyone give a shit about what people commission?

I dunno.... I never paid for any furry porn commissions, and don't plan to -'cause I draw what I want, myself. For the same reason, I never accepted any commisions either although I got requests. I draw in my spare time for my own amusement, and I draw what I like. Drawing art of other people's fan characters I have no attachment to just doesn't work for me (I know, I have done art trades). I have a day job to pay my bills, furry art for me, is my hobby. If I brought money and time restraints and customer satisfaction into it, it just wouldn't be as much fun for me.

Speaking of that guy, commissions and donations. He pretty much screwed you guys out of a game in which he planned on selling in the first place.
I had almost completed the game when he pulled his stunt, however it may have backfired on him.
I was never obligated to make or even work on 6.5Bit Pixelforce in the first place because I was never commissioned to do so. I never agreed to make
this game in an email, instant message or even on paper.
He has absolutely no proof of this, he assumed that because a few people donated that he would be able to impose his game upon me. Everyone that has ever watched Judge Judy knows that the burden of proof is on the plaintiff, who currently has absolutely none. No proof, no case. I would have never accepted an 8bit commission of any kind, coding or artwork, in fact, I told him on many occasions that I hated it and even left notes of how displeased with it I was in the game!
Which brings me to another point on donations. Donations are considered gifts and gift are BY LAW non-refundable. Just ask any politician.
So, if you donate to an artist and he does not give you what you wanted then that money is lost. He is not obligated to return it to you.
For those people that do get commissions, be sure that the artist agrees to make the commission first, and even better get it IN WRITING.
Or one day you will be on several different forums talking about your hopes and aspirations, while all the while, you have nothing.

I agree with pimp on pixel force the one time I asked about it, he said it wasnt his game and he hated 8 bit games. I swear people get dumb with age. What makes someone think the all powerful toon pimp will help him, if toon pimp said no? ~shrugs~ I guess that goes to show you toon pimp is great. He makes porn games, internet games, and if all goes well soon inde games for xbox live.

There is a big difference between a few bucks and 450$... A few bucks would not get a game made for you by Toonpimp. Heck, a regular inked/colored commission from any artist costs around 50-60$. Which is a bit too much for the young folk here to afford, who have no jobs yet.

You've taken that statement out of context. If people would have just been willing to donate every once in a while in the past, then TP wouldn't feel compelled to charge $450 for flash games. He'd probably keep making free games in return for their gratitude. But over the years he has made dozens of free games, begged for donations, only to be met with excuses like "I would love to but I don't have any money, sorry!" It turned him bitter against the thought of making any more games for people who penny-pinch and bash those games regularly, so now his $450 price tag is the result of that. If he's going to make another free game for these people, he's going to want some kind of cash assurance before spending the time on it.

He's been given a lot of shit by a lot of people, so unless you're going to make it worth his while, he's not lifting his stylus to make any more porn games. That's just what the lack of gratitude lead to.

May I ask why this is even being argued about ?

and I'm going to be the one to point this out but, "young folks " have no right to be on this forum because they are not old enough to even be looking at all the filthy dirty furry action on it. And the difference between 10 people donating 5 dollars and 1 person donating 50 is a distance of miles not feet because it shows that we are all willing to do our part for the game to get made and the benefit of the game designer. Personally I have to say I'm one of those lazy assholes who has yet to contribute at all to the making of any games on this forum. I may donate in the future I don't fucking know I won't blame it on me being poor i'll blame it on what it is, Simply haven't bothered too. ( troll that if you want its honesty )
At least one of us has use for your brains.
